Super Easy Stew Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound beef stew meat, diced into small pieces
  • 3 large carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons flour (optional for thickening)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the beef stew meat over medium heat for a few minutes until golden brown, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the onions and garlic to the pot and sauté for a few minutes until they are softened and lightly browned.
  3. Add the carrots, potatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Stir everything together until all the ingredients are well mixed.
  4. Cover the pot with a lid and reduce the heat to low. Let the stew simmer for at least an hour or until the vegetables and beef are tender and fully cooked.
  5. If you prefer a thicker stew, whisk together the flour and 1/4 cup of cold water in a small bowl. Add this mixture to the stew and continue to cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the stew thickens up.
  6. Remove the pot from heat and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
