Tart with Apples and Salted Butter

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 4-5 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press dough into the pan and prick with a fork. Place in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  4. In a pan, melt unsalted butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and salt. Cook until sugar dissolves and the mixture starts bubbling. Remove from heat.
  5. Arrange sliced apples on the prepared crust and pour the brown sugar mixture over them.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Let cool before serving.
