Tartiflette Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1kg potatoes
  • 200g lardons or bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 200ml double cream
  • 200g Reblochon cheese, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Peel and boil the potatoes until tender. Once done, drain and slice them into thin rounds.
  2. Fry the bacon or lardons in a pan until crispy. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, fry the onion until soft and translucent. Add the garlic and fry for 1 minute.
  4. Add the sliced potatoes and bacon/lardons to the pan with the onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper and mix well.
  5. In a separate pan, heat the double cream until it just starts to boil. Remove from the heat.
  6. In a baking dish, spread half of the potato mixture evenly on the bottom. Pour half of the cream over the potatoes, then place half of the sliced Reblochon cheese on top.
  7. Add another layer of potatoes, then pour over the remaining cream and top with the rest of the cheese.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/160°C fan for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Serving Suggestions:

Tartiflette is best served hot from the oven, with a fresh green salad on the side.
