Tartiflette Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1kg potatoes
- 200g lardons or bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 200ml double cream
- 200g Reblochon cheese, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Peel and boil the potatoes until tender. Once done, drain and slice them into thin rounds.
- Fry the bacon or lardons in a pan until crispy. Remove from pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, fry the onion until soft and translucent. Add the garlic and fry for 1 minute.
- Add the sliced potatoes and bacon/lardons to the pan with the onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper and mix well.
- In a separate pan, heat the double cream until it just starts to boil. Remove from the heat.
- In a baking dish, spread half of the potato mixture evenly on the bottom. Pour half of the cream over the potatoes, then place half of the sliced Reblochon cheese on top.
- Add another layer of potatoes, then pour over the remaining cream and top with the rest of the cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/160°C fan for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Serving Suggestions:
Tartiflette is best served hot from the oven, with a fresh green salad on the side.
