Thermomix Gazelle Horns Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almonds, blanched
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Additional powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a Thermomix or food processor, finely grind the blanched almonds until they resemble coarse sand.
  3. Add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, and salt, and pulse to combine.
  4. Add the softened butter and vanilla extract, and pulse until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the flour and pulse until the dough comes together.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly, just until smooth.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and milk.
  8. Divide the dough into 24 equal pieces.
  9. Roll each piece into a ball, then roll it out into a thin circle.
  10. Place a small spoonful of the filling onto one half of the dough circle. Fold the other half over the top of the filling, and press the edges together to seal.
  11. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling to make 24 horns.
  12. Place the horns on a baking sheet, and brush them with the egg yolk mixture.
  13. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  14. Let the horns cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  15. Dust with additional powdered sugar before serving.
