Thousand Sheets
Ingredients:
- 12 sheets of phyllo dough
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup ground walnuts
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Mix together the ground walnuts, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
- Brush one sheet of phyllo dough with melted butter, and sprinkle some of the nut mixture on top. Place another sheet of phyllo on top of the first, and repeat the process until all 12 sheets have been used.
- Cut the phyllo stack into squares or rectangles and place them in the baking dish.
- Mix together the honey and water, and pour over the phyllo stacks.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
