Tomato Chutney – Treat Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6-7 medium-sized tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2-3 dried red chilies
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon jaggery or brown sugar
Instructions:
- Wash and chop the tomatoes into small pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Wait for them to splutter.
- Add dried red chilies, ginger-garlic paste, and stir well.
- Add chopped tomatoes and mix well with the spices.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix well again.
- Cook the tomatoes until they are soft and mushy. This should take about 10-12 minutes.
- Add jaggery or brown sugar and mix well. Cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool for a while.
- Blend the chutney in a blender or food processor until it becomes smooth.
- Your tomato chutney is now ready to serve!
