Veal Lasagna Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb. of ground veal
- 8 oz. of lasagna noodles
- 28 oz. of canned crushed tomatoes
- 8 oz. of canned tomato sauce
- 2 cups of grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup of chopped onions
- 1/2 cup of chopped green peppers
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp. of olive oil
- 1 tsp. of dried basil
- 1 tsp. of dried oregano
- 1 tsp. of salt
- 1/2 tsp. of black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and green peppers and sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and ground veal to the skillet and cook until veal is browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Add canned crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer, allowing the sauce to cook for another 10-15 minutes.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the lasagna noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese, repeating until all ingredients are used up.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of lasagna.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove aluminum foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
