Venison Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground venison
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a pan, cook the ground venison over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and add the thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Roll out the puff pastry and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
  7. Add the venison mixture on top of the pastry.
  8. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg.
  9. Place the remaining pastry on top and crimp the edges with a fork.
  10. Brush the top with the remaining egg and cut a few slits to vent.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
