Apple Crumble with Speculoos Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup speculoos cookies, crushed
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, lemon juice, and cinnamon powder until the apples are coated evenly.
  3. Place the apple mixture in a 9×13 inch baking dish and set aside.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, speculoos cookies, brown sugar, rolled oats, and salt.
  5. Add the cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or a fork to combine it until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the apple mixture, covering it completely.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve the apple crumble with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a classic dessert. It can also be served warm with a cup of coffee or tea for a cozy evening treat.
