Baked Samosa Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 2 cups boiled and mashed potatoes
- 1 cup boiled green peas
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 12-15 samosa sheets
- 2 tablespoons flour for sealing
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder. Mix well.
- Add mashed potatoes and green peas. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice and salt. Mix well.
- Take a samosa sheet and make a cone shape. Fill the cone with 2 tablespoons of potato filling.
- Seal the edges with flour-water paste.
- Repeat the process with all the samosa sheets and potato filling.
- Arrange the samosas on a baking tray and brush melted butter on top of each samosa.
- Bake the samosas for 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- Remove from oven and serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind chutney.
