Bavarian Lobster with Shellfish Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds live lobster
  • 1 1/2 cups white wine
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 shallots, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 pound scallops
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh thyme

Instructions:

  1. Place live lobster in boiling water for 5 to 6 minutes.
  2. Remove from water and let cool. Carefully remove meat from lobster and set aside, keeping shell intact.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shallots and cook until softened, about 2 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and cook for another minute.
  5. Slowly add in chicken broth and white wine, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

  9. Spoon the lobster meat mixture back into the reserved lobster shell.
  10. Spoon the shellfish cream sauce around the lobster and serve immediately.
