Blue Cheese and Ham Savory Cake Recipe at Monsieur Cuisine

Ingredients:

  • 200g cooked ham, chopped into small pieces
  • 150g blue cheese, crumbled
  • 250g self-raising flour
  • 150g unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 100ml milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas mark 4. Grease and line a 20cm cake tin with baking paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter until creamy, then add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, oregano and a pinch of salt and pepper and mix well.
  4. Add the milk and mix until smooth.
  5. Add the ham and blue cheese and mix well.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and smooth out the surface.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the cake is golden brown and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
  8. Leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve cold or warm with a side salad.
