Caipirinha granita – Delicious

Caipirinha Granita

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 cup cachaça (Brazilian rum)
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the cooled sugar syrup, lime juice, and cachaça.
  4. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish, such as a baking dish or pie pan, and place it in the freezer.
  5. After half an hour, use a fork to scrape the mixture, breaking up any ice crystals that have formed. Repeat this process every 30 minutes for about 2-3 hours, or until the mixture resembles a fluffy snow-like texture.
  6. To serve, scoop the granita into individual cups or glasses and garnish with lime wedges.

Verdict:

This Caipirinha Granita is the perfect summer treat! The sweet and tangy flavors of lime juice complemented by the cachaça create a refreshing and almost addictive icy dessert.

Serving Suggestions:

For an extra kick, serve with a shot of cachaça or a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Alternatively, try serving with fresh fruit such as sliced strawberries or chopped mango to add some complimentary flavors and textures.
