Cheese Naans with Tomme Vaudoise Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup grated Tomme Vaudoise cheese
  • 2 tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  2. Add the yogurt, milk, and vegetable oil to the dry mixture and stir until well combined.
  3. Add the grated cheese and cilantro and mix well.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C.
  7. Divide the dough into 8 equal-sized balls and roll them out into 1/4-inch-thick circles.
  8. Place the naans on a greased baking sheet and bake them for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve the cheese naans warm, with a side of raita or chutney. These naans make a great addition to any Indian meal, as well as a tasty appetizer or snack. The Tomme Vaudoise cheese adds a rich and nutty flavor to the naans, making them even more delicious.
