FIG Ducks


FIG Duck Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 duck breasts
  • 8 fresh figs, quartered
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Score the skin side of the duck breasts in a crisscross pattern.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together honey, Dijon mustard, and olive oil until well combined.
  4. Season the duck breasts with salt and pepper, then brush the honey mixture onto the skin of the duck breasts.
  5. Place the duck breasts skin side down on a baking sheet and cook in the oven for 8 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and flip the duck breasts over, cooking for an additional 4-6 minutes for medium-rare to medium doneness.
  7. While the duck is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the quartered figs and cook until lightly browned, about 2 minutes.
  8. Remove the duck from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve the sliced duck with the caramelized figs on top.
