FIG Duck Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 duck breasts
- 8 fresh figs, quartered
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Score the skin side of the duck breasts in a crisscross pattern.
- In a small bowl, mix together honey, Dijon mustard, and olive oil until well combined.
- Season the duck breasts with salt and pepper, then brush the honey mixture onto the skin of the duck breasts.
- Place the duck breasts skin side down on a baking sheet and cook in the oven for 8 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and flip the duck breasts over, cooking for an additional 4-6 minutes for medium-rare to medium doneness.
- While the duck is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the quartered figs and cook until lightly browned, about 2 minutes.
- Remove the duck from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the sliced duck with the caramelized figs on top.
