Filet Mignon in the Oven Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 (6-ounce) filet mignon steaks
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme, chopped

Instructions:

  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C).
  3. Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  4. In an ovenproof skillet, heat the olive oil over high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the steaks into the skillet, and let them cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-high and add the garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet. Stir to combine and let cook for another minute.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake the steaks for 10-12 minutes for medium-rare to medium, or until the desired internal temperature is reached.
  7. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
