Foie Gras Samosas with Spices Recipe
Ingredients
- 6 sheets of phyllo pastry
- 200g of foie gras
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of allspice powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 egg
- Vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cut the foie gras into small pieces and place in a bowl. Add in the honey, soy sauce, cinnamon, allspice, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Take one sheet of phyllo pastry and brush it with the beaten egg. Fold it in half lengthwise to make a long strip.
- Place a spoonful of the foie gras mixture at one end of the pastry strip and fold it diagonally to form a triangle. Keep folding until you reach the end of the strip. Tuck the edges in and place on the baking sheet.
- Repeat with the remaining phyllo pastry sheets.
- Brush the samosas with egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the samosas until crisp and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
- Serve the foie gras samosas hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
