Frisee salad, bacon and mimosa egg

Frisee Salad with Bacon and Mimosa Egg Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of frisee lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 slices of thick-cut bacon, cooked until crispy and diced
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the frisee lettuce: Rinse and tear the frisee lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place the torn lettuce in a large salad bowl.
  2. Cook the bacon: In a pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan and place on paper towels to drain. Once cooled, dice the bacon and add to the salad bowl.
  3. Prepare the mimosa eggs: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, carefully add the eggs and cook for 6-7 minutes. Remove the eggs from the pot and place under cold running water to cool. Once cooled, peel the eggs and cut them in half. Separate the yolks from the whites and chop each separately. Set them aside.
  4. Make the salad dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the white wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, extra-virgin olive oil, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  5. Assemble the salad: Pour the salad dressing over the frisee lettuce and toss until the leaves are evenly coated. Divide the salad between plates and sprinkle the mimosa eggs over the top. Garnish with extra chopped bacon and season with additional salt and pepper as desired.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Verdict:

This frisee salad with bacon and mimosa egg is a delicious and satisfying meal. The fresh, slightly bitter frisee lettuce pairs perfectly with the salty bacon and creamy eggs. The dressing is tangy and flavorful, tying all the ingredients together. This salad is perfect for a light lunch or dinner, and can also be served as a side dish to a heartier meal.
