From Quince jam


Quince Jam Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg quince fruit, washed and sliced
  • 500 g sugar
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Water

Instructions:

  1. Place the sliced quince fruit in a large pot and add enough water to cover them. Add the cinnamon stick and bring to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, lower the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, until the quince fruit is soft.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick and discard it.
  4. Mash the cooked quince fruit with a potato masher or a fork.
  5. Add the sugar and lemon juice to the pot and stir well until the sugar dissolves.
  6. Put the pot back on the stove and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the jam thickens.
  7. Turn off the heat and let the jam cool for 5-10 minutes.
  8. Pour the quince jam into sterilized jars and let them cool to room temperature. Store them in the fridge.
