Quince Jam Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 kg quince fruit, washed and sliced
- 500 g sugar
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Water
Instructions:
- Place the sliced quince fruit in a large pot and add enough water to cover them. Add the cinnamon stick and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, lower the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, until the quince fruit is soft.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick and discard it.
- Mash the cooked quince fruit with a potato masher or a fork.
- Add the sugar and lemon juice to the pot and stir well until the sugar dissolves.
- Put the pot back on the stove and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until the jam thickens.
- Turn off the heat and let the jam cool for 5-10 minutes.
- Pour the quince jam into sterilized jars and let them cool to room temperature. Store them in the fridge.
