Homemade Ketchup Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients.
- Bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
- Using an immersion blender, blend the mixture until it is smooth.
- Transfer ketchup to a jar with a lid and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
