Homemade Ketchup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients.
  2. Bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
  5. Using an immersion blender, blend the mixture until it is smooth.
  6. Transfer ketchup to a jar with a lid and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
