Leek Fondue with Bacon Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 large leeks
  • 4-6 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Clean and slice the leeks in thin rounds. Rinse them thoroughly and drain.
  2. Cut the bacon into small pieces and cook them in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crispy. Remove the bacon onto a paper towel-lined plate and set it aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the sliced leeks. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the leeks are softened, but not browned.
  4. Once the leeks are cooked, pour in the white wine and chicken broth. Let them cook for about 5 minutes or until most of the liquid has evaporated.
  5. Pour the heavy cream over the leeks and stir well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Let the mixture cook over low heat for another 5-10 minutes until it thickens. Add the bacon to the mixture and stir thoroughly.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
