Mascarpone Brioche Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water (110F)
- 1/4 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg yolk beaten with 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and yeast. Mix until it is evenly combined.
- In a separate, smaller mixing bowl, whisk together the warm water and mascarpone cheese until it is smooth.
- Add the mascarpone mixture, softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the flour mixture. Mix the ingredients together until they come together as a sticky dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into six even pieces. Knead each piece into a ball and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Cover the baking sheet with the damp cloth and allow the dough to rise for another 30 minutes, or until it has doubled in size again.
- Brush the top of the rolls with the egg yolk and milk mixture.
- Bake the mascarpone brioche rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving.
Serving suggestions:
Serve your mascarpone brioche rolls warm with a dollop of mascarpone cheese on top, and a drizzle of honey for an extra sweetness. You can also serve them with your favorite jam, butter or Nutella. They can be enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea as a breakfast or as a light dessert.
