Milk Rice Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 2 cups of water
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Start by rinsing and draining the rice.
  2. In a pot, add rice, water, 2 cups of milk, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Place on medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer until the rice is cooked and the liquid has been absorbed, for approximately 20-30 minutes.
  4. Then remove the cinnamon stick from the cooked rice.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs with vanilla extract, add the remaining milk stirring well to combine.
  6. Add the egg mixture to the pot with the cooked rice and stir well.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  8. Grease a baking dish with butter and pour the mixture into it.
  9. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until it turns golden brown and the edges start to crisp.
  10. Once done, remove the rice cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely.
  11. You can cut into pieces and serve.
