Pear Ice Cream Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe pears, peeled and diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions:
- Add the pears and heavy cream to a blender and blend until smooth. Set aside.
- Heat the milk and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has fully dissolved.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks together.
- Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the bowl of whisked egg yolks, whisking constantly to prevent the eggs from cooking.
- Pour the egg and milk mixture back into the saucepan and turn the heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture has thickened and can coat the back of a spoon.
- Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any lumps.
- Stir in the pear mixture, vanilla extract, and salt. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
- Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually for about 25-30 minutes.
- Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 3 hours before serving.
Serving Suggestions:
