Pear Pie Recipe
This delicious pear pie is perfect for any occasion. The combination of fresh pears and warm spices creates a wonderful filling that is both sweet and tangy.
Ingredients
- 1 double pie crust
- 6 to 7 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a large bowl, toss sliced pears with sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and lemon juice until well combined.
- Pour the pear mixture into the pie crust.
- Dot the top of the filling with butter.
- Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the filling. Trim the edges and crimp the edges to seal the pie.
- Make several slits on the top crust to vent steam.
