Ingredients

  • 3 lbs of pears, peeled and diced
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise and seeds scraped
  • 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the diced pears, sugar, vanilla bean and seeds, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently.

  4. Remove the vanilla bean from the pot and discard.

  7. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 6 months.
