Prawns flambéed with whiskey on a bed of cream Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound prawns, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup whiskey
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once hot, add the garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds or until fragrant.
- Add the prawns to the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the prawns from the skillet and set aside.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the whiskey to the same skillet. Carefully ignite the whiskey with a long match or lighter, being careful to stand back as the flames erupt. Let the flames burn out naturally, then add the butter and cream to the skillet.
- Stir the sauce until the butter is completely melted and the sauce is smooth. Taste the sauce and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste.
- Plate the prawns and pour the whiskey cream sauce over them.
Verdict:
The combination of the prawns, whiskey, and cream creates a rich and flavorful sauce that pairs perfectly with the tender and juicy prawns. The dish is perfect for a special occasion or dinner party since it looks and tastes amazing.
Serving Suggestions:
This dish is best served with a side of steamed rice or pasta and a green salad. You can also serve it with a crusty bread to spread the sauce on.
