Prawns flambéed with whiskey on a bed of cream Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup whiskey
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Once hot, add the garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds or until fragrant.
  3. Add the prawns to the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the prawns from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and add the whiskey to the same skillet. Carefully ignite the whiskey with a long match or lighter, being careful to stand back as the flames erupt. Let the flames burn out naturally, then add the butter and cream to the skillet.
  5. Stir the sauce until the butter is completely melted and the sauce is smooth. Taste the sauce and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste.
  6. Plate the prawns and pour the whiskey cream sauce over them.

Verdict:

The combination of the prawns, whiskey, and cream creates a rich and flavorful sauce that pairs perfectly with the tender and juicy prawns. The dish is perfect for a special occasion or dinner party since it looks and tastes amazing.

Serving Suggestions:

This dish is best served with a side of steamed rice or pasta and a green salad. You can also serve it with a crusty bread to spread the sauce on.
