SAUSAGE ROLL: EASY APERITIF RECIPE
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 6 sausages (pork or chicken)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F)
- Remove the skin from the sausages and put the meat in a mixing bowl
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface, cut it in half lengthways and then cut each length into three equal parts
- Divide the sausage meat into six equal parts, roll each into a sausage shape and put one on each pastry rectangle. Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg and fold over one side of the pastry to enclose the sausage meat, leaving a lip of pastry, press the edges together and crimp with a fork. Brush the top of each sausage roll with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown
