Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and grated
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
