Tian De Courgettes Recipe
Tian De Courgettes is a classic French dish made with thinly sliced zucchini, garlic, onions, and tomatoes. It is a delicious vegetarian dish that is perfect for any season. The dish is usually served as a side, but it can also be enjoyed as a light lunch or a dinner entree.
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized zucchinis
- 2 medium-sized tomatoes
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Thyme or basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Thinly slice the zucchinis and tomatoes.
- Layer the sliced zucchinis in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, overlapping each other slightly.
- Sprinkle half of the sliced onions and garlic over the zucchini.
- Drizzle half of the olive oil over the vegetables and season with salt and pepper.
- Add another layer of overlapping zucchini slices on top of the onions and garlic.
- Arrange the sliced tomatoes on top of the zucchini, overlapping them slightly.
- Add the remaining sliced onions and garlic on top of the tomatoes.
- Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the vegetables and season with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the vegetables.
- Bake the Tian for 45-50 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the cheese is golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh thyme or basil (optional) before serving.
Serving Suggestions
Tian De Courgettes can be served hot or cold as a side dish with grilled meats, fish or tofu. It can also be served as a vegetarian entrée with a crusty bread and mixed greens salad.
