Tian De Courgettes Recipe

Tian De Courgettes is a classic French dish made with thinly sliced zucchini, garlic, onions, and tomatoes. It is a delicious vegetarian dish that is perfect for any season. The dish is usually served as a side, but it can also be enjoyed as a light lunch or a dinner entree.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized zucchinis
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Thyme or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Thinly slice the zucchinis and tomatoes.
  3. Layer the sliced zucchinis in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, overlapping each other slightly.
  4. Sprinkle half of the sliced onions and garlic over the zucchini.
  5. Drizzle half of the olive oil over the vegetables and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Add another layer of overlapping zucchini slices on top of the onions and garlic.
  7. Arrange the sliced tomatoes on top of the zucchini, overlapping them slightly.
  8. Add the remaining sliced onions and garlic on top of the tomatoes.
  9. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the vegetables and season with salt and pepper.
  10. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the vegetables.
  11. Bake the Tian for 45-50 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the cheese is golden brown.
  12. Garnish with fresh thyme or basil (optional) before serving.

Serving Suggestions

Tian De Courgettes can be served hot or cold as a side dish with grilled meats, fish or tofu. It can also be served as a vegetarian entrée with a crusty bread and mixed greens salad.

This dish is great for meal prep, as it keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Enjoy!
