Tomato and bacon sauce

Tomato and Bacon Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Cook the chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, and leave the bacon drippings in the skillet.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for a minute or until fragrant.
  3. Add the can of crushed tomatoes to the skillet, stir well and bring to a simmer. Add the salt and black pepper, and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Add the bacon back to the skillet and let it cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Use an immersion blender or a regular blender to puree the sauce to your desired texture.
  6. Return the sauce to the skillet and heat it again over low heat until it is warm and ready to serve.
