Beef Samosas Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb beef, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 cup peas
- 1/4 cup carrots, peeled and grated
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- 10 samosas sheets
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions:
- In a pan, heat oil over medium heat and sauté onions until soft and translucent.
- Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
- Stir in the beef and cook until browned.
- Add cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala and salt and cook for a further 2 minutes.
- Add the peas, carrots and lemon juice and cook until the vegetables are soft but not mushy.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Take one samosas sheet and fold it into a cone shape.
- Spoon 2-3 tbsp of beef filling into the cone and seal the top by brushing egg on the edges.
- Repeat with the remaining sheets and filling.
- Brush the samosas with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the samosas are golden brown.
- Serve hot with mint chutney and tamarind sauce.
