Beef Samosas Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 cup peas
  • 1/4 cup carrots, peeled and grated
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 10 samosas sheets
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat and sauté onions until soft and translucent.
  2. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the beef and cook until browned.
  4. Add cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala and salt and cook for a further 2 minutes.
  5. Add the peas, carrots and lemon juice and cook until the vegetables are soft but not mushy.
  6. Remove from heat and set aside.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  8. Take one samosas sheet and fold it into a cone shape.
  9. Spoon 2-3 tbsp of beef filling into the cone and seal the top by brushing egg on the edges.
  10. Repeat with the remaining sheets and filling.
  11. Brush the samosas with the beaten egg.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the samosas are golden brown.
  13. Serve hot with mint chutney and tamarind sauce.
