Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, corn starch, garlic powder, and ground black pepper.
  2. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner pointing towards you.
  3. Place 1 1/2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture on the wrapper.
  4. Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling and tuck it under tightly.
  5. Roll the wrapper tightly and fold the sides towards the center.
  6. Continue to roll the wrapper until the end. Seal the end with a bit of water.
  7. Repeat the same with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  8. In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  9. Once the oil is hot enough, fry the cigars until they turn golden brown. Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
  10. Once done, place the cigars on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
