Ginger Roasted Quinces
Ingredients:
- 4 medium-sized quinces
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Wash and dry quinces, halve and core each quince. Cut each half into slices about 1/2-inch thick.
- In a large bowl, mix honey, ginger, brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg.
- Add quince slices to the bowl and toss to coat evenly.
- Add water to a baking dish and place quince slices in the baking dish in a single layer.
- Cut butter into small pieces and scatter on top of the quince mixture.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for 15-20 minutes until the quinces are tender and caramelized on top.
- Remove the quinces from the oven and cool them for 10 minutes.
- Serve warm and drizzle with the remaining syrup from the baking dish. Garnish with chopped nuts or fresh herbs.
