Light Vegan Brownies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, combine apple sauce, maple syrup, almond milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, and smooth out the surface with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
