peach wine

Peach Wine Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 lbs peaches, ripe and pitted
  • 2 lbs sugar
  • 1 package wine yeast
  • 1 gallon of water

Instructions:

  1. Wash the peaches thoroughly and remove pits. Roughly chop the peaches into smaller pieces.
  2. In a large pot, mix together the peaches, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Let the mixture simmer for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove the pot from heat, let it cool to room temperature, and then strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean container.
  4. Once the liquid has cooled to about 70°F, stir in the packet of wine yeast and cover the container with a clean cloth. Let it sit and ferment for about 3-4 weeks, stirring occasionally.
  5. After 3-4 weeks, if the mixture has stopped bubbling and fermentation is complete, transfer the liquid into a clean and sterilized wine bottle. Cork the bottle and store in a cool, dark place for several months to allow the wine to age and develop flavor.
  6. After aging, serve chilled and enjoy!
