Peach Wine Recipe
Ingredients:
- 6-8 lbs peaches, ripe and pitted
- 2 lbs sugar
- 1 package wine yeast
- 1 gallon of water
Instructions:
- Wash the peaches thoroughly and remove pits. Roughly chop the peaches into smaller pieces.
- In a large pot, mix together the peaches, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Let the mixture simmer for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the pot from heat, let it cool to room temperature, and then strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean container.
- Once the liquid has cooled to about 70°F, stir in the packet of wine yeast and cover the container with a clean cloth. Let it sit and ferment for about 3-4 weeks, stirring occasionally.
- After 3-4 weeks, if the mixture has stopped bubbling and fermentation is complete, transfer the liquid into a clean and sterilized wine bottle. Cork the bottle and store in a cool, dark place for several months to allow the wine to age and develop flavor.
- After aging, serve chilled and enjoy!
