Quick plum pie


Quick Plum Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 premade pie crust
  • 4-5 cups of sliced plums
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon of butter, cut into small pieces
  • Egg wash (1 egg beaten + 1 tablespoon of water)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and line a 9-inch pie tin.
  3. In a bowl, mix the sliced plums, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Pour plum mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  5. Dot with butter pieces on top.
  6. Roll out remaining pie crust and cut into strips about 1/2 inch wide.
  7. Arrange the strips on top of the filling in a lattice pattern.
  8. Brush the lattice with egg wash.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  10. Cool before serving.

Serving Suggestion:

Serve the quick plum pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The pie can also be served at room temperature with a dollop of whipped cream on top. Enjoy!
