Quick Plum Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 premade pie crust
- 4-5 cups of sliced plums
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon of butter, cut into small pieces
- Egg wash (1 egg beaten + 1 tablespoon of water)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pie crust and line a 9-inch pie tin.
- In a bowl, mix the sliced plums, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour plum mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- Dot with butter pieces on top.
- Roll out remaining pie crust and cut into strips about 1/2 inch wide.
- Arrange the strips on top of the filling in a lattice pattern.
- Brush the lattice with egg wash.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve the quick plum pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The pie can also be served at room temperature with a dollop of whipped cream on top. Enjoy!
