Salmon Curry Steaks Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 Salmon steaks, deboned and skin removed
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp Yellow curry powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 3 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté for 2-3 minutes or until the onion and garlic become fragrant and the onion is translucent.
  3. In the same skillet, add the curry powder, turmeric, paprika, cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper. Sauté for 1-2 minutes or until the spices start to release their fragrance and becomes aromatic.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste and brown sugar, followed by the coconut milk and lemon juice and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low and add the salmon steaks and let cook for 10-12 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and the sauce is thickened.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or flatbread, garnished with fresh cilantro.
