  2. Add the beaten egg to the meat mixture and mix well.
  3. Lay out a sheet of phyllo dough and brush it with melted butter. Add a spoonful of the meat mixture at the bottom end of the dough, leaving about an inch of space from the bottom and sides.
  4. Roll up the dough to form a triangle, tucking in the sides as you go. Repeat until all of the meat mixture is used up.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat. Fry the briouates until golden brown, turning occasionally to cook evenly.
  6. Remove the briouates from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain off any excess oil.
  7. Serve hot as a snack or appetizer.
