Croque Monsieur of Polenta Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup polenta
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup grated gruyere cheese
- 8 slices of bread, crust removed
- 4 slices of ham
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a pot, bring the water to boil. Add the polenta and stir continuously for 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Add the parmesan cheese and gruyere cheese to the polenta and mix until the cheese is fully melted.
- Pour the polenta onto a greased baking sheet and let it cool down for at least 30 minutes.

- Pour the béchamel sauce over the ham and polenta sandwiches.
- Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce is golden brown and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
