Crozet Gratin Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. Crozet pasta
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 2 cups Gruyere cheese, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the crozet pasta according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is golden brown.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream until smooth. Add the nutmeg and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until it thickens. Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of the grated Gruyere cheese until melted and well combined.
- Add the cooked crozet to the cheese sauce and stir until coated. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of Gruyere cheese over the top and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Serve hot.
