Flammekueche Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough
  • 150g crème fraîche
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup bacon, diced
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Spread the crème fraîche over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the thinly sliced onions and bacon on top of the crème fraîche.
  5. Sprinkle caraway seeds, nutmeg, salt and pepper on top of the onion and bacon.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the dough are golden brown and the onions are caramelized.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
