Fruit Tart: Gourmet Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg yolk, lightly beaten
  • 2-3 cups of your favorite fruits
  • 1/2 cup apricot preserves

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add the egg yolk and mix until the dough comes together.
  3. Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and kneed for a few minutes until the dough is smooth.
  4. Shape the dough into a disc, wrap it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and transfer it into a 9-inch tart pan. Trim the edges of the dough and prick the bottom with a fork.
  6. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
  7. Arrange the fruits over the cooled crust.
  8. Warm the apricot preserves in the microwave or on the stovetop until it is melted.
  9. Brush the melted apricot preserves over the fruits and allow the tart to chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
