Lasagna with Caramelized Langoustines and Three Cabbages
Ingredients
- 1 pack lasagna noodles
- 1 lb langoustines, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 head white cabbage, sliced
- 1 head red cabbage, sliced
- 1 head savoy cabbage, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add langoustines to the pan and cook until caramelized, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and the remaining olive oil. Sauté onions and garlic until soft and fragrant.
- Add all three types of cabbage and sauté until wilted, about 10-15 minutes. Add heavy cream and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the sauce is thick and creamy.
- To assemble the lasagna, spoon a thin layer of the cabbage mixture onto the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Add a layer of lasagna noodles on top, followed by another layer of the cabbage mixture.
- Add a layer of langoustines on top, followed by another layer of lasagna noodles and the remaining cabbage mixture. Sprinkle the top layer with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
- Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
