Oyster and Celery Stuffing Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cups chopped celery
- 2 cups chopped onions
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 pint shucked fresh oysters, drained, reserving 1 cup liquid
- 10 cups dried bread cubes (preferably a mix of white and wheat bread)
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter. Add the celery and onions and cook over medium heat until softened, about 8 minutes.
- Add the sage, thyme, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute more.
- Add the oysters and reserved liquid and cook until the edges of the oysters start to curl, about 3 minutes.
- In a large bowl, toss the bread cubes with the oyster mixture and parsley.
- Transfer to a 9×13 inch baking dish and bake until golden brown and crispy on top, about 45 minutes.
