Oyster and Celery Stuffing Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups chopped celery
  • 2 cups chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pint shucked fresh oysters, drained, reserving 1 cup liquid
  • 10 cups dried bread cubes (preferably a mix of white and wheat bread)
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter. Add the celery and onions and cook over medium heat until softened, about 8 minutes.
  3. Add the sage, thyme, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Add the oysters and reserved liquid and cook until the edges of the oysters start to curl, about 3 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, toss the bread cubes with the oyster mixture and parsley.
  6. Transfer to a 9×13 inch baking dish and bake until golden brown and crispy on top, about 45 minutes.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
