Pork, Cabbage and Beer Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb pork tenderloin, cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 bottle of beer
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 package of pie crust

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onions and garlic and saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Add pork and cook until browned on all sides (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add cabbage, salt and pepper and cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Add beer and chicken broth, and bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat and let it simmer until the liquid has reduced by half, about 10 minutes.
  7. Add flour, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a pie dish.
  9. Lay out the pie crust over the mixture and trim the edges.
  10. Cut slits in the center of the crust to allow steam to escape.
  11. Bake for 40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  12. Let the pie cool for a few minutes before serving.
