Pork cheeks in beer

Pork Cheeks in Beer Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork cheeks (trimmed and cleaned)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1 cup of beer (preferably dark)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the pork cheeks with salt and pepper and add them to the skillet, cooking for 2-3 minutes per side or until browned.
  3. Remove the pork cheeks from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and add the chopped onion to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Add the brown sugar, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet and stir well.
  6. Pour in the beer and stir to combine everything. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Return the pork cheeks to the skillet and spoon some of the sauce over them.
  8. Cover the skillet and simmer the pork cheeks for about 2 hours or until they are tender and cooked through.
  9. Remove the pork cheeks from the skillet and place them on a serving dish.
  10. Bring the sauce in the skillet to a boil to thicken it up. Pour it over the pork cheeks and serve.

Verdict:

This recipe is perfect for a cozy night in. The pork cheeks cook slowly in the beer until they are tender and packed with flavor. The combination of thyme, rosemary, and beer creates a unique and delicious sauce that is perfect for drizzling over the meat.
