Pork in White Wine Recipe
This easy recipe serves 6 people.
Ingredients
- 1.5 kg pork shoulder
- 2 onions, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cups of white wine
- 2 cups of chicken broth
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- In a large dutch oven, heat up the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Season the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, and dried thyme. Then, add the pork to the dutch oven and cook for 5 to 7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same dutch oven, add the onions and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Then, add the white wine and chicken broth to the pot. Bring to a simmer and scrape the bottom of the pot to release any brown bits.
- Put the pork back into the pot and cover with the lid.
- Bake in the oven for 2 hours, until the pork is fork-tender.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Serve the pork with a side of roasted potatoes or buttered noodles. The white wine sauce can also be spooned over the pork and potatoes for extra flavor.
